APICTA Awards 2018: An International Platform for Asia Pacific ICT Innovators

The APICTA Awards Program this year took place in Guangzhou China, during 9-13 October.

Asia Pacific ICT Alliance(APICTA), is a union of national ICT organizations who represent their respective economy to construct and improve a commonly agreeable system to advance ICT, upgrade innovation advancements, ability and appropriation, and empower the improvement of indigenous ICT answers for the worldwide market. ACI won merit award for Fosholi 

The Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA Awards) is an international awards program organized by APICTA, which has the purpose to increase ICT awareness in the community and help in bridging the digital gap. By providing networking and product benchmarking opportunities to ICT innovators and entrepreneurs in the region, the program is designed to stimulate ICT innovation and creativity, promote economic and trade relations, facilitate technology transfer, and offer business matching opportunities via exposure to venture capitalists and investors. Till now Members of APICTA consist of 17 (seventeen) Economies including Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and Nepal.

After the successful completion of  APICTA Awards 2017 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, This year APICTA Awards took place in Guangzhou, China. Like every year Bangladesh was also invited this year for the award ceremony. With the lead of BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir, 28 organizations from Bangladesh participated in the competition. 35 different projects from these organizations were showcased there which got highly appreciated in the global platform.

ACI won merit award for Fosholi 

This year Bangladesh won six awards in APICTA including one award in the Champion category and five awards in the Merit category. The Champion project is RAJUK Uttara Model College’s Project Feed’em which won the award in the Senior Student Category. Besides, Bangladesh has won 5 Merit Awards in 5 Different Categories. The Merit Awardees are as follows: 

1. Sindabad.com Limited’s Project Sindabad.com Limited in Cross-Category (Start-up)
2. A2i & SoftBD Limited’s Joint Project Eksheba in Inclusion and Community Services Category
3. St Joseph Higher Secondary School’s Project Sobjanta in Senior Student Category
4. ACI Agribusiness Project Fosholi in Industrial (Agricultural) Category
5. Zantrik Limited’s Zantrik 911 in Industrial (Transport) Category

Bangladeshi Delegates in APICTA 2018

This year, 81 delegates from Bangladesh have participated in this global event. With the lead of BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir,BASIS Senior Vice President Farhana A Rahman, Vice President (Admin) & Judge of APICTA Shoeb Ahmed Masud, Director & Judge of APICTA Didarul Alam, Bangladesh Coordinator in APICTA Mostafizur Rahaman Sohel, Judge of APICTA Abdullah H Kafi, Mr. Ehsanul Parvez, Joint Secretary (Organizational Support & Innovation Branch), ICT Division and Dr. Muhammed Mehedi Hassan, Deputy Secretary (ICT Promotion Section), ICT Division also joined Bangladesh Delegation.
