Early detection and treatment of the disease is essential to preventing vision loss. The Diabetic Retinopathy Intent Detection system is designed to help doctors quickly and accurately detect diseases from retina images.
Challenges
There was no existing app to measure retinopathy level prior to the introduction of this web-based diabetic retinopathy solution, and as a result, the lack of a digital solution could not assist people prevent blindness at an early stage of disease.
Solution
Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of blindness worldwide, and early detection is crucial to preventing vision loss. However, traditional methods of screening are often impractical or unavailable in resource-poor settings. As a result, many people with diabetes do not receive the care they need to prevent blindness. To address this problem, we developed a web-based solution for diabetic retinopathy screening. Our app uses artificial intelligence to automatically measure retinopathy levels. We believe that our app has the potential to significantly improve access to care for people with diabetes and to help prevent vision loss due to diabetic retinopathy. The system uses a deep learning algorithm to segment the retina into different layers from the uploaded retina image in the system, which automatically defines the score of diabatic Retinopathy level based on the uploaded data. Impact
As a result of digital platform solution that can detect Diabetic Retinopathy, it is now possible to know the severity of the disease at an earlier stage and help people to prevent blindness at early stage of disease in order to get better treatments. It helps medical professionals to get more awareness about the disease. This web application will help in this regard by making it easier for medical consultancy or professionals to assess patients quickly and accurately. In addition, the platform can help to improve productivity by allowing medical professionals to receive treatment for diabetic retinopathy before it progresses to a more advanced stage.
